deaddog.comlately i have been seeing a lot of hits in my recent referrer (bottom right) list from a site called deaddog.com.. hmm, i was already wondering why they were sending that much traffic without ever asking a return link. i just let them be, i was sending some traffic back according to their referrerlist and never questioned their sincerity until i installed another tracker script (bit more sophisticated) and what do you reckon? almost not one single fucking hit from those guys. deaddog seems to be spoofing a lot of sites.. digging some deeper on his site i found some suspicious looking javascript dribble in which several well known and respected websites can be discovered (all using referrer logs strangely). havent got a clue what the scripts exactly does, but i know what mister deaddog is sending me.. check some of it out.. a normal http request looks like this: 81.76.118.47 - - [19/Jul/2004:04:33:45 -0500] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 102560 "http://www.linkwhore.com/index.php?c=NSFW" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)" hi-lited is the size of the request (the size of my index.html is always about 100k) and as you may see mister deaddog requests always stay somewhere around the 15-20k, which means (i guess) that he is loading parts of websites onto his website and that happens with every visitor he gets! therefore, a lot of hits to every website below. www.americanevil.com www.fatwillie.net www.thechump.com www.titbit.nl www.kontraband.com www.shooshtime.com www.ehowa.com prove me wrong. ah well, maybe he is just cheating here, who knows? ;-)
